It helps when a client has an idea of what they want, in this case a blackjack duck as the logo for their hunting farm. I had begun to research various images of blackjack ducks in flight or in water, but I noticed this particular duck has very distinct features. The piercing yellow eyes, coupled with the pitch black head and gray beak, made for a nice simplistic logo with a natural color scheme.
